On Sunday 17th March Burgess Hill Girls came 3rd in the Inter Dojo competition hosted at The Triangle leisure centre in Burgess Hill.

Vanshika Koomar was brilliant, and is now Pee Wee (5-7 yr age group) Kata Champion 2019.
Mirabelle Hogan was beaten by Vanshika in the semi-finals, but achieved a bronze medal.
Sophie Brignall achieved a bronze in the Pee Wee Plate (2nd Division) Kata.

Maddie Hall achieved a bronze medal in the Junior Kata Competition. Sheona Gibb achieved a bronze in the Girls Kumite (sparring) competition. Hannah Lovejoy achieved a bronze medal in the Women’s Kumite.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Hannah Lovejoy, Chloe Gibb and Sheona Gibb were also awarded their GB and England colours by the Chairman of the Council, Councillor Bruce Forbes. What an achievement, well done!

Head Liz Laybourn said ‘This was such an impressive event to watch. These young people are so passionate about their Karate and it showed in bucket loads! An absolute tremendous performance and so proud to see Hannah, Chloe and Sheona receive their GB colours – so well deserved!’
