Senior School Book Week

We are getting excited about our Senior School Book Week which will run between the 26th February and the 2nd March. This year our focus will be ‘empowering young women’.

The highlight of Book Week will be a visit from Young Adult (YA) author extraordinaire, Holly Bourne (below). Winner of the Southern Schools Book Award, the YA Book Prize and a judge in the 2017 BBC Young Writer’s Award. Holly’s numerous novels inevitably include strong young women – fantastic role models for our girls.

Ready Steady ReadThroughout the week to encourage a love of reading for pleasure, we will be holding a Ready Steady Read event, organised in conjunction with the publishers Usborne. The idea will be that during the duration of Book Week, the girls will ask to be sponsored by friends and family to read as much as they can during this time both in and out of school. The money raised by the girls will be used to purchase books for the school.
