Southern Schools Book Award

Posted: 7th February 2017

A group of Year 9 and 10 students braved the wild and windy weather to venture up to Roedean on Friday 3rd February. Their mission was to find out who won this year’s Southern Schools Book Award.

This prestigious award founded and run by Roedean since 2004, has over seventy five participating schools from all over the Southeast. As ‘shadowers’, students read five recently published novels which were selected by a committee made up of librarians and students. The winner however is chosen by a student-only vote. This year, Holly Bourne’s brilliant novel  Am I Normal Yet?, was bestowed the honour of best book of 2016.
