HEAD OF P.E. TO REPRESENT ENGLAND AT WORLD CUP MASTERS HOCKEY

Head of P.E. at Burgess Hill Girls and former pupil heads to Australia to represent England Hockey

Head of P.E. and former pupil at Burgess Hill Girls, Suzy Clapp has been selected to represent England at the World Cup Masters Hockey Tournament held in Canberra, Australia at the end of this month.

The tournament is held at the National Hockey Centre where Suzy and the rest of the England Team will be competing against the USA, Wales, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in a round robin format. There will then be classification matches depending on how the teams do.

Suzy, typically modestly said of her amazing achievement “I feel very honoured and proud to be representing my country at such a prestigious event and it certainly makes all the training and hard work worthwhile. Hockey has played a huge part of my life and I love being part of a team and there is no better place than playing for England at a World Cup down under.”

All of us at Burgess Hill Girls, both staff and pupils are immensely proud of Suzy and would hope you will all join us in wishing her the best of luck at her tournament.
