Miss Clapp represents England at Hockey Masters World Championship

Canberra, Australia

My Hockey Masters World Cup journey has been an unbelievable experience one – I will cherish for life. I absolutely loved every minute both on and off the pitch and it has motivated me even more to be the best I can be. Representing your country gives you a sense of achievement, passion and pride and I will certainly cherish every moment. Playing in the World Cup was a childhood dream of mine and it was everything and more that I could have asked for. I was really pleased with my own individual performance and as a team we put in some great performances. The 5-0 win over New Zealand was a highlight which gained us a place in the Gold Medal play off against Australia. In 31 degree heat it was tough match physically and we gave it our all but the Aussies had the edge and went onto to win 4-1. I was really pleased with my first World Cup to come away with a silver medal and it only drives me on further to go and search for that gold medal next time. The support back home was incredible and I cannot thank everyone enough who made this possible.
