The Power of the Mind Conference

University College London

On 6th November, both Lower and Upper Sixth psychology students attended a series of psychology seminars at UCL. These talks, delivered by psychologists at the very top of their field, ranged from exploring the strange adaptations of a London taxi driver’s brain, to explanations of the supernatural as conjured up in our minds. There really was something for everyone, and often the things we learned were not only interesting and slightly quirky, but also incredibly relevant (in particular a discussion about Asch’s and Zimbardo’s social influence research, which is directly applicable to our course). All in all the day was insightful, engaging and thought-provoking, and I think even the teachers will have learned something new!
