Carers’ Day 2020

Posted: 1st January 1970

We hosted our annual Carers’ Day on Tuesday 3rd March with Burgess Hill Town Council. We host the event every year so that local carers’ can come and enjoy a day of pampering, lunching and entertainment.

The day started at 10:30 when the visitors started to arrive. Businesses and organisations kindly gave up their time to help out and provide support and activities throughout the event. Carers were buddied up with one of our girls, who helped arrange any appointments and provided refreshments during their day. The pampering on offer included massages, nails, hair, makeup and colour consultations. There were also a range of activities on offer that were available between appointments. These included flower arranging, plant potting, tea light decorating and cake decorating, all of which were available for the carers’ to take home.

Around the hall there were also a number of information stands who provided advice and support to anyone who needed it. The stands included the NHS, the local Fire Services and Age UK.

A yummy ploughmans lunch was provided along with tea, coffee and juices while the carers listened to the music that was put on by our talented musicians.

Burgess Hill Town Mayor joined us for the day and helped present the (very generous) raffle prizes. These included haircuts, afternoon tea and a day at the races! There was also a tombola where carers had 5 attempts at seeing if they could win a prize from the amazing selection there was to offer.

Overall, it was yet another successful Carers’ Day.
