Prospective parents and students are invited to visit our Sixth Form during Open Events at Burgess Hill Girls. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange individual appointments to visit and meet with the Head of Sixth Form.
If, following your visit, you wish to register an application please return a completed registration form alongside a recent school report. You will also be required to arrange payment of the £150 registration fee. Once received we would then arrange for your daughter to join us for a taster day and/or invite her to join us for entrance testing.
Entry Process
The Scholarship Assessment process for Year 12 entry takes place every November, for entry in the following academic year. An information booklet regarding the process, and key dates, for September 2024 entry will be available from September 2023. Please contact our admissions team if you wish to receive this information, or if you have any questions in the meantime.
We are no longer able to accept scholarship applications for September 2023 entry, but are still able to arrange entrance testing. Applicants are required to sit an English paper, Maths paper and an online cognitive ability test. The Head of Sixth Form will also interview all applicants as part of the admissions process, and we will request a reference from their current school. To apply for a place in our Sixth Form please contact our admissions team.
BOLD Award
Burgess Hill Girls prides itself on being the school for young women who are academically capable, creative, open-minded and curious, and who want to have a positive impact on the social and political world around them. We are also proud of championing the success of girls that join our Sixth Form who are new to the opportunities of independent education.
Our BOLD Award is a dedicated award for girls from maintained schools, providing for a fully funded place in the Sixth Form. We expect the recipient to have been bold in their own life – forward-thinking, experimental and reaching far beyond what is expected.
Applications will be considered from candidates who have so far not attended independent school. We would strongly encourage and favourably consider applications from the following students:
- Students with no family history of university attendance;
- Students eligible for free school meals;
- Looked-after children or those in care;
- The children of key workers.
To apply for the BOLD Award, please request an application form from our Admissions team. Following your application, you will then be invited to our Scholarship assessment day in November.
Please note that we are no longer able to accept BOLD Award applications for September 2023 entry, as the assessment day takes place every November.
