HOCKEY GIRLS STORM TO VICTORY

Posted: 6th February 2017

Burgess Hill Girls U13 Hockey Team took part in the annual Windlesham House Tournament on Friday, February 3rd. Ten schools from Sussex took part in the competition in what were pretty tough conditions. Despite the wind and rain the girls produced some excellent hockey, passing and moving as a team with a really clinical attack. The team showed real passion and resilience to dig deep and beat the schools listed below. In the group they beat:

Windlesham House ‘B’ – 3-0

Millais – 5-0

Prebendal – 6-0

St Andrews – drew 0-0 to win their section and advance to the semi-finals.

In a tough semi-final match against Brighton College the girls showed real determination to come through 2-1 and book a place in the final against Windlesham House ‘A’.

In the final girls continued to play some brilliant Hockey and worked really well as a team to win by 2 goals to 0 to win the tournament.  An excellent achievement. Congratulations to Issy G who was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ in the final. Well done. In total the girls scored 18 goals and only conceded 1. What a brilliant all round achievement.
