Interview with Funke Abimbola MBE

Posted: 7th December 2017

We are always fortunate when our Old Girls, or Bold Girls as we increasingly call them, come to visit. One of our most frequent visitors is Funke Abimbola MBE. She was guest speaker at our 2016 Founders’ Day and returned again recently for our Autumn 2017 Open Day.

Funke is an incredible women and as Head Liz Laybourn commented in her introduction, “living proof of what a Burgess Hill Girl can achieve.”

True to her ability to handle multiple roles in life she managed to pack a lot into her short visit to us. She gave a speech to our Open Day visitors and met with both girls at the school and girls who are thinking of joining. She also very kindly helped us make this short film about her time at Burgess Hill Girls and the important role it has played on her life.
