NSEA Grass Roots Regional Show Jumping Championships

Posted: 15th December 2020

After a successful year already, the Burgess Hill Girls Equestrian team qualified and then took part in the NSEA Regional Show Jumping Championships on Saturday 5th December at Felbridge Showground. They did amazingly well with some fantastic results.

Firstly, Alice T, Heidi R, Annabel S and Poppi S jumped in the 40cm class.  All four girls jumped perfect clear rounds resulting in a team first. Alice was also entered individually and came 3rd with Heidi 1st in the rankings for the team.

Then the following team jumped in the 50cm class, Heidi R, Poppi S and Annabel S (Annabel jumped twice on two different ponies). Another fantastic result with four clear rounds. The team came 1st, with Annabel also entered individually on one pony, coming 3rd. Heidi completed with the fastest time for the team resulting 2nd in the rankings.

The final class was the 60cm, the team for this was Kirstin R, Heidi R, Annabel S and Poppi S.  The team came 2nd, who were only nine seconds slower as a team, than the winners Great Walstead.

It was a very competitive but fun day, with great teamwork from the girls. They did exceptionally well despite very little recent show practice due to the second lockdown.

Rider of the Day – Alice T. The girls voted unanimously for Alice who rode really well after a recent fall that had knocked her confidence.
