Jumping to equestrian success

The past few months have been nothing but success after success for the Burgess Hill Girls Equestrian team. Below you’ll find a summary of achievements since the start of term.

NSEA AT FELBRIDGE SHOWGROUND SATURDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Class 1 – 70cm: Kirstin, Year 9, went clear in a fast time to come in very close-second place, beaten by less than one second. She has qualified for the NSEA Championships at Keysoe. 

Class 2 – 80cm: Our team, Kirstin and Suzannah, Year 9 and Freya, Lower Sixth. Kirstin went clear, Suzannah got 8 faults and Freya got 4 faults. The team came eighth and also qualified for the NSEA Championships.

Class 5 – 1.1m: Klara, Year 11 was our only entry in this class, she had one unlucky pole for 4 faults but came seventh and qualified for the NSEA Championships as well.

Rider of the day was Kirstin.

NSEA GRASS ROOTS AT FELBRIDGE SHOWGROUND SUNDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Class 1 – 40cm: Alice, Year 4, Sofia, Year 8, and Alexa, Year 6 made up the team. All girls jumped beautiful clear rounds to come Team fourth and qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships.

Class 2 – 50cm: our team was Sofia, Poppi, Year 9, and Heidi, Year 7 (riding two ponies). Four brilliant clear rounds, with a Team first and Individual second and third for Heidi, all qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships.

Class 3 – 60cm: Sofia jumped a great clear round but was just out of the placings and Heidi jumped a lovely round on her new pony with just 4 faults. 

Class 4 – 70cm, Annabel, Year 9 had an unlucky pole to finish on 4 faults.

Class 5 – 75cm, Annabel finished on 4 faults and came fourth.

Rider of the day was Heidi. 

 

 

HURST COLLEGE INTERSCHOOLS SHOW JUMPING AT HICKSTEAD THURSDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Class 1- 45-50cm: the team was Sofia, Frida, Year 6, Poppi, and Sheona, Year 10.  Wonderful riding with 3 clear rounds and one 4 faults gave us a Team second out of 9 teams and 32 riders.

Class 2 – 65-70cm: Our team was Annabel, Heidi, Freya and Scarlett, Year 10.  A very competitive class with superb riding from the girls finishing third out of 11 teams and 39 riders.

Class 3 – 85-90cm: Our team was Klara, Kirstin and Suzannah, and Isobel, Lower Sixth. A very spooky filler caused lots of rider’s problems including ours! Suzannah finished on 4 faults and Isobel jumped a lovely clear round.

Rider of the day was awarded to Frida.

 

FARLINGTON GRASS ROOTS SHOW SUNDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2021

Class 1 – 40cm: Our team was Alice, Sofia, and Alexa. Three perfect clear rounds to finish Team second and Individual second for Sofia, qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships.

Class 2 – 50cm: The team was Poppi, Sofia, and Heidi riding two ponies. Three great clear rounds and one 4 faults gave us a Team first and Individual first for Sofia, and second and third for Heidi, also qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships. 

Class 3 – Pairs: Poppi and Sofia jumped very fast clear rounds to finish in second place beaten by less than one second. 

Class 4 – 60cm: Heidi, riding two ponies, Poppi and Annabel made up our team. More great riding resulted in a Team first place qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships.

Class 5 – 70cm, Annabel rode a lovely clear round to finish sixth. Another one qualifying for the Grass Roots Regional Championships!

Rider of the day went to Sofia.

 

NSEA SHOW JUMPING AT COOMBELANDS SUNDAY 17TH OCTOBER 2021

Class 1 – 40cm: Alexa jumped a clear round to be placed fifth.

Class 2 – 50cm: Heidi jumped a super speedy clear round to be placed first. 

Class 3 – 60cm: Our team; Annabel, Heidi, Sofia and Poppi came fifth, and Heidi came fourth individually.

Class 4 – 70cm: A lovely clear round for Annabel, just out of the placings.

Class 5 – 90cm: This was a very competitive class, Kirstin jumped a clear round to be placed ninth.

Rider of the Day was Heidi.
