Pupils at Burgess Hill Girls managed to raise £750 for a Sussex hospice during their annual Elf Run this year.
The girls from reception to Year 6, all dressed as festive elves, took part in a series of challenges along their obstacle course route including ducking and diving to avoid being pelted with beanbags. Their reward was a visit from Santa – of course!
The money they raised through sponsorship will go to St Peter and St James Hospice in Wivelsfield Green. The staff’s amazing work provides local support and health care to families and patients in a time in their lives when they need some extra help.
The hospice costs £8000 a day to run, with £19 paying for one hour of care and £23 for a nurse to visit someone in their own home.
