A Letter from Interim Head, Heather Cavanagh:
As we embark on the new status of our school, one of our key priorities is to ensure we offer our families value for money and one way we can do that is by being mindful how we plan and run events. Considering this, I’m pleased to share that our upcoming Founder’s Day on 4th July 2025 will be held off-site at Plumpton Racecourse.
This change has been made for two main reasons:
1. Cost Efficiency: Using Plumpton Racecourse’s facilities allows us to forego the substantial expense of hiring and setting up a marquee on the school grounds.
2. Reduced Workload: Hosting Founder’s Day on-site has previously involved significant effort from our staff to arrange the event. Moving to Plumpton’s permanent marquee provides a fully equipped, ready-to-use space, relieving staff of these considerable tasks.
Why Plumpton Racecourse?
Apart from being relatively close to the school, Plumpton offers a scenic setting with wonderful views of the South Downs. The permanent marquee is equipped with air conditioning, an integrated sound system, and ample seating to comfortably accommodate all our guests. Additionally, there is ample parking, and the racecourse is just a five-minute walk from Plumpton station, making it a very accessible venue.
We’ll be working on the finer details of the event over the coming months and will announce this in the Spring of 2025.
We’re very confident that this new venue for Founder’s Day will offer us all a memorable, high-quality venue to celebrate the girls’ achievements.
Please find a couple of photos of the venue attached to give you an idea of the setting. Kind regards,
Mrs H Cavanagh
