This year, we marked our annual Founders’ Day celebration in a brand-new setting – the beautiful Plumpton Racecourse. With the sun shining down and the South Downs in the distance, it was the perfect backdrop for a joyful day of celebration and reflection for our Prep and Lower School girls.
Founders’ Day is always a special moment in the school calendar – an opportunity to come together as a whole school community and reflect on the achievements, growth and memories of the past academic year. Pupils, families, staff and Governors gathered for an afternoon filled with pride, laughter, and a real sense of accomplishment.
There were picnics, ice creams, and plenty of smiles as we celebrated everything the girls have achieved this year – in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field, and beyond. Congratulations to all the girls who received prizes, and well done to every single pupil for a brilliant year. The energy and enthusiasm on the day captured everything that makes our school so special.
We were also delighted to welcome our newly appointed Head, Mrs Heather Cavanagh, who delivered her first Founders’ Day speech. Her words reflected our strong values, celebrated the uniqueness of every child, and looked forward with excitement to the future of Burgess Hill Girls.
We warmly invite all parents and members of our community to read Mrs Cavanagh’s full Founders’ Day speech, which captures the heart and vision of our school so beautifully.
