Burgess Hill Girls Equestrian Team Qualifies for National Championships

Posted: 16th October 2025

For the first time in the school’s history, the Burgess Hill Girls equestrian teams will compete as show jumping teams at the prestigious National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships, held this weekend at Addington in Buckinghamshire. This landmark achievement places our riders among thousands of young equestrians from across the country, following in the footsteps of former competitors some of whom have gone on to represent Great Britain on the international stage.

Our small but mighty team of riders who qualified, Alice T, Florence T, Viola M, Darcey W, Millie W, Evie W, Heidi R, have shown exceptional commitment and quiet determination, dedicating countless weekends to a series of qualifying events. Their hard work has paid off with team qualifications in the 70cm, 80cm, and 90cm classes. In addition, Darcey Whas earned an individual place in the 80cm class. Whilst Heidi Robbins and Viola M have earned individual places in the 90cm and 1m classes. A remarkable accomplishment that reflects their skill and perseverance.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents who tirelessly support the team, often travelling across the county and beyond to ensure the girls can compete under the school’s livery. We are also deeply grateful to @STX_UK for their generous sponsorship, of the team.

This moment is one of immense pride for our school community. We wish our riders the very best of luck as they represent Burgess Hill Girls on the national stage.
