Burgess Hill Girls recently welcomed families into school for its “Dine With Your Daughter” event, giving parents the opportunity to share a lunchtime experience with their daughters and gain a genuine insight into daily school life.

The initiative emphasises how simple, everyday moments—such as having lunch together—can strengthen relationships and enhance pupils’ sense of pride and belonging. Seeing a parent in school reinforces that their education is valued and that Burgess Hill Girls is a supportive, welcoming environment. For many families, these small moments become lasting memories.

Parents responded enthusiastically to the event, offering warm feedback on both the atmosphere and the catering. Comments included:

“Thank you for letting us come in!”

“The food was delicious—can we come every week?”

and

“Thank you to Alan and his team, it was amazing!”

One parent shared her appreciation in an email following the lunch:

“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in making Dine With Your Daughter possible. The event was absolutely fantastic, and it was such a lovely surprise to have the older girls wow us with their musical performances. A lot of time, effort, and care went into making the lunch so special and creating such a memorable experience.”

Another parent highlighted the school’s efforts to further strengthen parent engagement:

“The opportunity to join in the classroom and the upcoming lunch are fantastic initiatives and really make a difference. Just wish more dads would get involved—but that’s a longer-term mission! Thank you for these opportunities—I really appreciate them.”

Burgess Hill Girls extends its thanks to all families who attended, as well as to Alan and the catering team and the staff involved in planning and hosting the event. Their contributions helped create a warm, community-focused occasion that celebrated connection, belonging, and the meaningful everyday experiences that shape school life.
