Diamond League Final: Season Summary
The Diamond League season concluded with a strong final at Withdean, marking the end of a highly successful campaign for the team. Across the series, athletes demonstrated both consistency and high performance, reflecting the structure of the competition, which rewards sustained effort across multiple rounds.
The season began with an opening meet at Burgess Hill Girls’ and progressed through a series of competitive fixtures, culminating in a final that featured a number of medal-winning performances and personal bests.
In the hurdles, Lucy B secured an excellent 2nd place overall through consistent performances, while Evelyn Z achieved a personal best to finish 4th, highlighting her continued development.
The discus event proved particularly successful, with Amber F taking 1st place with a throw of 27m and Rosie G finishing 2nd, resulting in a dominant performance for the team.
Millie T delivered strong results across multiple events, finishing 3rd in her race to secure 2nd place overall, alongside a long jump of 4.83m which earned her 2nd place in that event.
Tassi B achieved 1st place in her race by a significant margin and secured 2nd overall despite missing one fixture, demonstrating both performance quality and potential.
Bea W’s consistency throughout the season was recognised with a 3rd place overall finish in her category.
On the track, Daania A produced an impressive performance in the 100m, competing in an older age group and securing 1st place.
The 4x100m relay team, comprising Liv F, Sophie, Millie T and Lucy B, delivered a well-executed performance to achieve 2nd place both in the race and overall standings.
Across the season, 32 athletes represented the team, collectively achieving 10 medals and a significant number of personal best performances. These results reflect not only individual ability but also the commitment and resilience shown throughout the competition.
The continued support of parents and the wider school community has played an important role in enabling athletes to perform at this level.
Attention now turns to Sports Day on 18th June, where athletes will have the opportunity to build on these achievements.
