Double Victory for Burgess Hill Girls at National Equestrian Championships

What an incredible weekend for the Burgess Hill Girls Equestrian Team at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships at Addington, Buckinghamshire! Over 200 school teams take part securing championship places through the year.
Our riders were on fantastic form, taking 1st place in the 80-85cm as the only team out of 36 to have all riders go clear in both rounds, but overall winning by a combined time of  under 1 second!
And if that wasn’t impressive enough, they went on to win the 90-95cm too,  beating 28 other teams. Going in to the 2nd round they were in 5th place. They all put in an amazing performance and finished winning by over 24 combined seconds. An incredible margin.
Burgess Hill Girls is the first school in NSEA history to win both the 80-85cm and 90-95cm at the same championships!
A huge well done to our amazing team
80-85cm Viola M, Darcey W, Millie W, and Heidi R.
90-95cm Viola M, Evie W, Darcey W and Heidi R
Qualifying individually in advance, Darcey came 36th and Viola 38th out of 72 in the 80/85cm, Viola came 24th and Heidi 26th in the 90/95cm out of 76, and Heidi 13th and Viola 34th in the 1.0/1.05cm out of 53. Incredible national results!
A special thank you to BOLD girl Klara for coming and supporting and helping all the girls in and out of the ring. A special mention to BOLD girl Kirstin for producing Heidi’s amazing pony!!!
We are so proud of you all, and so grateful to everyone who supports our riders, both at school and beyond.
