To meet a growing demand for places in our co-educational Nursery, we’re thrilled to announce the continued development of our nursery provision from September 2026, where we will be expanding our Nursery Pre-School classes.
This development will provide an enhanced learning environment, further enrich learning opportunities to ensure the children continue to thrive in a vibrant, well-resourced setting as they prepare for the next stage of their school journey.
Head Heather Cavanagh said “This development builds on the fantastic reputation of our nursery and school, a reputation made possible through the dedication of our outstanding nursery practitioners and the continued support of our families. We are excited about the opportunities this expansion brings and the benefits it will provide for our youngest learners“.
We’ve put together a set of FAQs below which we hope you’ll find helpful.
Q: Why is the nursery expanding?
A: We are now in a position to optimise space in the Little Oaks building, enabling us to consistently provide two nursery classes and two pre-school classes.
Q: Which children in the nursery will be using the new space?
A: The pre-school cohort will use the space upstairs. They will continue to have fluid access to the outside classroom space as well as two indoor classrooms, thus giving us the flexibility to offer full curriculum experiences in a wider setting.
Q: What does this mean for Nursery staffing?
A: The staffing ratios will remain the same and we are actively recruiting additional high quality staff.
Q: Are my fees going increase?
A: There will be no direct impact in nursery fees as a result of this expansion. However, fees will be reviewed in line with the schools policy. We will continue to offer the 2/3 year old and 3/4 year old early years funding entitlement.
Q: What spaces will change?
A: Little Oaks Hall will become an additional space for Nursery, Pre-Prep will have music lessons in Mrs Hickey’s classroom and Pre-Prep assemblies will take place in Oaks Hall. The current library area will become a specific Early Years library used by Nursery and Reception Class with Pre-Prep library moving further into the Pre-Prep space. Work will take place over the summer ready for use at the beginning of the academic year in September.
Q: Who will use the upstairs toilets?
A: These will continue to be used by Pre-Prep and if a nursery child should need the toilet whilst utilising the classroom upstairs they will be supervised by a nursery
member of staff.
Q: Where will Year 3 move to?
A: From September 2026, Year 3 will return to the ground floor classroom in the Oaks building. Year 6 will relocate to the upstairs classrooms, allowing us to make better use of the currently under utilised rooms in Oaks.
