Students Shine at National French Pop Video Awards

Posted: 1st August 2026

In June,  Burgess Hill Girls students represented the school with outstanding creativity, talent and dedication at the French Pop Video Awards.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of two student teams whose work reached the national finals of this year’s prestigious French Pop Video Competition, an achievement that reflects the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved.

Our Year 8 finalists achieved an impressive Top 5 national ranking in the 12-15 age category, placing them among the very best young French language learners in the country.

Adding to the celebrations, our Year 10 students Arianna and Genie received a special Coup de Cœur Award, recognising their creativity and standout performance. This award is presented to entries that particularly impress the judges and leave a lasting impact.

The students’ videos, Capturer le moment and Pourquoi ?, were selected as national finalists, a testament to the originality, teamwork and linguistic skills demonstrated throughout the project.

The French Pop Video Competition brings together schools from across the UK, encouraging students to develop their French language skills through the medium of music, film and creative storytelling. Reaching the national finals is a remarkable accomplishment, and receiving special recognition at the awards ceremony made the evening even more memorable.

Congratulations to all of the students involved. We are immensely proud of their achievements and the way they represented Burgess Hill Girls on a national stage.

Bravo à tous!
