Today we are celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2026 following an excellent set of A Level and Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) results, with students securing places on a wide range of competitive university courses across the UK.
Overall, 65% of our students achieved three grades at A*-B, while more than 40% of all grades awarded were at A*-A, reflecting the determination, ambition, and resilience of this year’s cohort.
The school’s strength in the creative arts was particularly evident, with students achieving 100% A*-A grades across Art, Textiles, and Product Design.
Students also excelled in the EPQ, with every candidate awarded an A* or A grade. A cornerstone of the Burgess Hill Girls Sixth Form BOLD programme, the qualification develops independent research, critical thinking and communication skills, helping to prepare students for the demands of higher education and future careers.

These results reflect not only academic excellence, but also the perseverance, ambition, and commitment our students have shown throughout their time with us. We are delighted to see so many securing places on competitive courses that reflect their individual talents and aspirations, and we look forward to following their future successes.”
Students secured places at their first-choice universities, progressing to prestigious institutions including King’s College London, Durham University, University College London, the University of Nottingham, the University of Reading, Kingston School of Art and the University of the Arts, London. Courses chosen include a broad range of disciplines; Physics, Electronic Engineering, Human Sciences, Geography, Fine Art and Psychology.
Among the individual success stories:
- Ciara achieved three A grades and is planning a gap year before pursuing a career in the culinary profession.
- Luca achieved A*AA meeting the requirements to study Electronic Engineering at King’s College London.
- Octavia achieved A*AA alongside an A* in her EPQ and will read Geography at Durham University.
- Bronwen celebrated outstanding results of A*A*A and an A* in her EPQ, earning a place to study Human Sciences at University College London.
- Rebecca achieved two A* in Art and Textiles, securing her first-choice university, Kingston School of Art.
