Prospective parents and students are invited to visit our  Sixth Form  during  Open Events  at Burgess Hill Girls or alternatively to book a visit to the school on a Friday Open Morning. The BOLD Award, a dedicated scholarship awarded to one girl from a local state school, offering a fully funded place*

We take great pride in being a school that nurtures young women who are academically capable, creative, open-minded, and socially and politically engaged. We are especially proud of supporting students who are new to independent education and who demonstrate boldness in their lives, being forward-thinking, experimental, and exceeding expectations. Our mission is to develop ‘Tomorrow’s Women.

Take a look at our Being Bold Sixth Form Guide to learn more about life as a student in the Sixth Form which highlights some of our student success stories from the class of 2024. Meet Marissa Joseph, who joined the Sixth Form from Oathall Community College winning the Bold Award and Jessica Gorrell who joined the Sixth Form from Downlands Community School and learn about their experience at Burgess Hill Girls. Our latest Bold Scholar, Grace Dobson, who came to us from Warden Park, has just graduated and is now off to read French and Politics at Bristol University. We couldn’t be more proud of all our Bold Scholars.

Our BOLD Award is a one dedicated scholarship award for a girl from a local state school, providing for a fully funded place (*tuition fees/no registration fee required) in the Sixth Form. We expect the recipient to have been bold in their own life – forward-thinking, experimental and reaching far beyond what is expected.

The award will be offered to a student based on their academic ability, an interview and can demonstrate to the panel why they should be the recipient of the BOLD Award. The panel deciding on this award is made up of the Head, the Head of Sixth Form and the Assistant Head, Academic.

This award cannot be held in conjunction with any other scholarship or bursary awards.

The deadline for the BOLD Award applications for September 2026 entry has now closed.

If applying for the Bold Award, you will be required to complete an additional application using this separate BOLD Award Form

The SEMI-BOLD Awards, offering girls from our local state partner schools*, 50% remission on tuition fees

We are proud of championing the success of girls in our local community who are new to the opportunities of independent education. NB – all students who can demonstrate boldness in their lives, meet the entry requirements will be considered for the BOLD Award as outlined above and/or offered a SEMI-BOLD award if unsuccessful if they currently attend one of the named schools listed above.

Please note their are only two places offered per listed school and the places will be offered to students based on their academic ability, an interview and can demonstrate to the panel why they should be recipients of the SEMI-BOLD Awards.
