As the academic day ends the fun starts for boarders at Burgess Hill Girls. Read on for an example of evening and weekend activities for one week.
| Monday | The boarding week begins with a crafting or modelling activity on a Monday evening. For the girls who choose not to take part in these activities, there is the option to enjoy a relaxed evening in the house. |
| Tuesday | On Tuesday, the boarding staff tend to run a trip to the local supermarket to stock up on any supplies. |
| Wednesday | On Wednesday, its Baking Club. We bake a variety of cakes and biscuits, basically anything anyone with a sweet tooth would enjoy! |
| Thursday | Thursday is a wellbeing session, an opportunity to relax and unwind. |
| Friday | Friday is Movie Club with, of course, popcorn! |
| Saturday | Saturdays allow the girls to explore beyond the school and experience a range of new activities, providing the perfect opportunity for each girl to bond with other girls from different year groups. We also run our ‘Next Steps’ programme, preparing any older students for life beyond Burgess Hill Girls. |
| Sunday | Sundays are a nice relaxing day preparing for school the next day. |
Trips
Every Saturday there is a big boarding activity or excursion for Years 7-10, with the older girls welcome to opt in. These trips allow the girls to explore new skills and try new things that many have never experienced before. Some example trips this term have been camping, cooking for Come Dine with Me, Lazer Zone and a Halloween Haunted House made by the girls themselves. Upcoming trips include Brighton beach and shopping (pictured above and below), London Theatre days, cinema trips, zoo days and more. These trips help girls strengthen their relationships and enjoy a social environment outside the boarding house.
