An Example Week
As the academic day ends the fun starts for boarders at Burgess Hill Girls. Read on for an example of evening and weekend activities for one week.
Monday
The boarding week begins with a gymnastics or fitness suite activity ran by Miss Webb on a Monday evening. For the girls who choose not to take part in these activities, there is the option to enjoy a relaxed evening in the house.
Tuesday
On Tuesday, Miss Smith runs a very popular Anime Club. A lot of the girls have expressed an interest in Anime and a variety of activities ranging from treasure hunts to quizzes are modified to fit this theme.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, there is a trip to the supermarket so that the girls can buy their own favourite snacks and enjoy a little time off-site.
Thursday
Thursday evenings see Miss Scott share her extensive knowledge of baking delicious sweet treats at Baking Club.
Friday
Friday afternoons provide the sixth form pupils with the opportunity to practice their cooking skills under the supervision of Mrs Beels.
Saturday
Saturdays allow the girls to explore beyond the school and experience a range of new activities, providing the perfect opportunity for each girl to bond with other girls from different year groups.
SUNDAY
Sundays are a nice relaxing day preparing for school the next day.
Trips
Every Saturday there is a big boarding activity or excursion for Years 7-10, with the older girls welcome to opt in. These trips allow the girls to explore new skills and try new things that many have never experienced before. Some example trips this term have been camping, cooking for Come Dine with Me, Lazer Zone and a Halloween Haunted House made by the girls themselves. Upcoming trips will include London Theatre days, cinema trips, zoo days and more. These trips allow the girls to bond and enjoy the family atmosphere within the boarding house. They are able to build their relationships and enjoy a social environment outside the boarding house.
More reviewsPrisha“Boarding is soooooo much fun!! Staff are super nice and fun and they are also open to talk to. They book really fun trips and they make boarding really fun to do. They help keep us organised for school, especially make us keep our rooms tidy!”
