AN OUTSTANDING PRIVATE PRIMARY SCHOOL IN SUSSEX
We would love you to show you round our Junior School at our next Open Day on September 28th. Book your place here
Burgess Hill Girls Junior is a happy, supportive community where girls feel at home and quickly develop the self-belief to achieve in every aspect of their education.
Our Junior School plays its part in providing new creative opportunities and experience which build upon the solid foundations of your daughter’s nursery education. The early contagious sparkle of the Nursery is nurtured ever brighter so that your daughter is deeply engaged in her learning and with soaring confidence she is free to move constructively on her tailored individual learning journey.
high quality education
We have a strong leadership team, excellent experienced teachers and employ industry leading GL assessment methods. Put this together with small class sizes and our outstanding facilities, it’s not surprising that girls develop rapidly as they progress through each stage of the school.
Burgess Hill Girls has a happy confident ‘can do’ attitude which is endemic and infectious. At each stage of your daughter’s schooling this attitude is positively encouraged, so your daughter becomes ever more confident, embracing the risks and challenges that new learning brings. Equally as important as academic achievement is each girl’s social development and communication skills. Visitors to our school are frequently surprised by how girls so young can interact so maturely and comfortably with adults.
journey of discovery
An essential part of our mission is to provide the foundation for girls to succeed at Senior School and beyond. This is achieved by ensuring your daughter grows up healthy, safe, and resilient, developing the ability and curiosity to learn.
We offer a wide variety of unique extra-curricular experiences for girls. From performing in a choir recital at St Paul’s Cathedral to windsurfing at Ardingly Reservoir. There’s a choice of over thirty different clubs covering music, sport and creative activities.
“Pupils achieve high levels of knowledge, understanding and skills in curriculum subjects and extra-curricular activities. Pupils come happily to learn in an environment where they feel safe and secure and where they are valued for their unique personalities and qualities.” (Independent Schools Inspectorate 2014)
Mrs Heather Cavanagh
Head of Junior School
“All the teachers are amazing. They allow us to have fun but are also strict when they need to be.”
“All the girls and teachers are really welcoming. Mrs Laybourn and Mrs Cavanagh are funny together, more like sisters than head teachers.”
“Mrs Laybourn visits us sometimes which is nice as it makes joining the Senior School less scary. We also did a Maths trail with Year 7s and 8s which was really fun.”
