Burgess Hill Girls Become Sussex Schools Cross Country Champions

Burgess Hill Girls Years 7 & 8 Cross Country team took part in the Sussex Schools Championships held at Christ Hospital School.

Twenty five schools across the County took part in very cold conditions. The Year 7 course was 2.5km and the Year 8 course was 3km.
There were 130 runners competing in the Year 8 race. Special congratulations must go to Georgie W who was the first Burgess Hill Girls runner home in 34th place.
There were 165 runners competing in the Year 7 race and the team performed superbly with Emily K finishing in 11th place, Lauren E 17th place, Megan V 20th place, Jess F 22nd place, Shannon M 34th and Lucy B 36th place. The team finished with a total of 71 points to become Sussex Schools Cross Country Team Champions. They finished a massive 73 points ahead of second place Windlesham House School. An excellent achievement.

Special Congratulations to Emily K, Lauren E and Megan V who were selected to run for Sussex at the Inter Counties Championship held in Basingstoke later this month. Once again, HUGE CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS!
