On Thursday 9th March, 13 girls gave a lunchtime concert at the United Reform Church on Junction Road. The programme started with a flute duet performed by Ella B and Sophie S. It included songs by Bernstein, Mozart and Elgar and Gilbert and Sullivan, a movement from Bach’s first solo cello suite and a Beethoven piano duet. The concert was well attended by members of the local community and ended with a contemporary piece for two violins and flute performed by Ella B, Amy L and Alice B – this trio have made it through to the final of the 2017 Pro Corda Chamber Music Competition on 19th March 2017.
It was a delight to receive this message from Mr & Mrs P – “We would like you to pass on grateful thanks to Burgess Hill Girls for the most excellent concert they entertain us with, this lunch time at the Methodist Church in Junction Road. We wish them all well for the future.”
