London 2 Brighton by Wheelchair

Posted: 4th April 2017

We are delighted to support an amazing challenge that one of our Senior School parents is about to embark on.

Starting on Saturday 6th May 2017, Ian will be pushing his wheelchair 100 miles from the London Eye to the Brighton i360 along a flat waterside route. The aim is to raise money for the various charities that have helped him re-build his life after a spinal cord injury which left him paralysed.

Talking about this accident, Ian explained “What happened to me, a bicycle accident out in the countryside, could happen to anyone – three people each day suffer a catastrophic spinal cord injury with life changing consequences. That’s why it’s important to support charities like these to continue with their valuable work.”

The route will involve heading west along the banks of the Thames to Weybridge, on to the Wey navigation canal path to Guildford, then the South Downs link path to the south coast.
