Year 5 trip to Broadfield Mosque

Posted: 19th May 2017

As part of their RE topic on Islam, Year 5 went on a visit to a mosque in Broadfield, Crawley on Thursday 18th May 2017.  They were met by a very friendly Imam called Zane who spent a lot of time talking to the girls and patiently answering all of their questions.  The girls had prepared booklets with questions to help them find out what they wanted to from their visit.

The girls continued their visit with a tour of the mosque and got to see how deceptively large it was inside, potentially holding 2,500 people during busy periods.

The girls found out lots of new facts and information that will help them with this continuing module of study for the rest of the Summer Term.  They are also looking forward to having some guest speakers to visit the school to talk to them about aspects of Islam and life as a practising Muslim.
Thank you to the Imam at the mosque for his patience and knowledge and for taking the time out of his day to let the girls visit.
