Mention coffee and cake and Burgess Hill Girls is there, especially when it’s for a good cause. So we jumped at the chance to get involved in MacMillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 29th September.
Years 7 through to Upper Sixth Form contributed by donating their time and effort to create some beautiful and wonderful cakes. Our PTA attended to assist with both set up and selling of the cakes and we managed to raise an incredible £660 for Macmillan.
We also added a twist to the morning with the addition of a ‘Bake Off’ competition. Parent Annabel Spink and speaker, campaigner and fundraiser Sarah Cutting (A.K.A Fizzy Snood) were on hand to judge and hand out prizes. See below or our Facebook page for more pictures.
The whole morning was a great success and we are already looking forward to next year when we hope to raise even more!
