Earlier this year we brought you news of Sofia C’s election to the UK Youth Parliament.
One of the most exciting aspects of her role is an invitation to attend the Annual Sitting, a day of workshops, debate, policy making and networking, at the House of Commons.
We asked Sofia C to tell us more,
“It was an incredible day with some really informative debates and speeches that widened my perspective on current issues for young people greatly. In the Commons, we debated the top 5 Make Your Mark issues, voted for by 11-18 year olds across the UK, with a vote at the end, deciding what would be our two campaigns going forward. Votes at 16 (UK Wide) and A Curriculum for Life (Devloved/UK) are now our two campaign topics”.
