Burgess Hill Girls is an independent school in West Sussex for girls aged four to eighteen years.
We will provide your daughter with the skills and opportunities to achieve her dreams through an educational experience that is second to none. Burgess Hill Girls has a fantastic history of success, a genuine passion for what we do and an environment which will allow your daughter to flourish and become the very best she can be!
“Absolutely outstanding. I could not recommend the teachers and environment highly enough which shows in all the other happy children and parents. Olivia’s confidence and overall learning & development continues to grow. Management communicate well and have been really supportive and flexible – I couldn’t be happier.”
“I have lots of fun. I like seeing my friends. The teachers are very nice and help me a lot.”
“I love Burgess Hill Girls because of the wide variety of lunchtime and after-school clubs. One of my favourites is Orchestra. It has definitely improved my musical skills and it’s fun to play in a group.”
“Burgess Hill Girls is special because of the community spirit found in each and every girl, especially in the lunch queue!”
“The boarding community is very homely and the staff are very supportive. We are very close knit and enjoy spending time in the evenings together doing various fun activities with the Gap Assistants. Mrs Beels’ office door is always open for a chat and it’s comforting to know.”

✨Senior & Sixth Form Founders' Day 2025
On Friday, our Senior and Sixth Form girls came together at Plumpton Racecourse to celebrate Founders’ Day – a joyful afternoon of reflection, recognition, and farewells. With parents, teachers, and staff in attendance, and delicious ice cream from Miall’s 🍦, it was a wonderful celebration of community and achievement.
Newly appointed Head Mrs Heather Cavanagh spoke about the unique spirit of Burgess Hill Girls, where “confidence is built not through competition, but through community,” and girls are encouraged “to lead, to question, to create, and to grow.”
She reminded us that “your worth is not defined by others, but by your own values, your own courage, and your own dreams” – a message that resonates as we look ahead to the future.
A special farewell and huge congratulations to our Year 13s. Well done on all your incredible achievements, and good luck as you embark on the next exciting chapter of your journey. We’re so proud of you!
Thank you to all the students, parents, staff, and teachers who have made this year so special – and to Plumpton Racecourse for hosting such a memorable day.
We can't wait to welcome everyone back in September!

✨Prep & Lower School Founders' Day 2025
This year, we marked Founders’ Day - our much-loved end-of-year celebration - at the stunning Plumpton Racecourse for the very first time.
Founders’ Day is a time to pause and reflect on the incredible achievements of our pupils over the past year - in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field, and beyond. We were proud to recognise so many girls with well-deserved prizes, and we applaud every single one for their hard work, courage, kindness and ambition throughout the year.
To our families, staff and the entire Burgess Hill Girls community - thank you for your ongoing support. And to all our girls - we are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished.
Have a wonderful, well-earned summer break! 🌞🌷
