Head of Learning Support / SENCO, full time or part-time

Required from September 2020

 

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Learning Support / SENCO to lead the School’s provision for students with special educational needs. This could be a full time role or a part-time job share.

The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge and experience of the wide range of specific learning difficulties. They should hold a current Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment Practising Certificate or a similar specialist qualification and should be familiar with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations regarding the processing of access arrangements. The role would ideally suit a candidate with experience of teaching of English to GCSE level. The successful candidate will be required to teach small groups of students within the Senior School.

Burgess Hill Girls is a GSA day and boarding school, with 450 students aged between 3 and 18 years. The majority of students are of above average ability and the school has an outstanding record of academic success at both GCSE and A level. Last year, nearly all pupils obtained at least 9 or more GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above and the vast majority of sixth formers proceeded to Higher Education.

Chef, full time position

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chef to work as part of our excellent School Catering team. The role of the Chef is to produce and deliver a high quality of food to students and staff, working on a weekly rota basis with other chefs in the team, to work for 40 hours a week over 5 working days, to include some evenings up to 7.00pm and occasional weekends. Hours are more flexible during School holiday periods. In order to be successful you will have at least a Level 2 in Catering or hospitality combined with a good overall understanding of food & hygiene and Health & Safety in a kitchen environment. It is essential that you work well as part of a team, with flexibility and are able to generate ideas and menu suggestions. Good organisational skills and reliability are essential.

NURSERY ASSISTANTS – BANK STAFF

We currently have opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our ‘Outstanding’ School Nursery as Bank Staff.

You will work as part of our excellent Nursery Team and with parents/carers to provide a stimulating, creative and safe environment for the children and promote the learning development of each child. The nursery is staffed between the hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year and we are looking for suitably qualified individuals who are potentially available to work between the hours stated on a 7 hour day – either an early or late start. Shifts will mainly be required during our School term time but may occasionally also be required during our School holiday periods when the nursery is also open.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have an excellent working knowledge of the EYFS along with at least a Level 2 qualification in childcare. You will also have previous experience of working with 2½ to 4 year olds, be able to deliver a high standard of care with excellent interpersonal skills.
