Boarding at our school is far more than just a place to stay during your daughter’s studies, it is a true second home where every girl is nurtured, supported, and encouraged to flourish from Year 7 through to Year 13.
We are a vibrant, close‑knit community, bringing together girls from across the UK and around the world. Much like a family, we support one another through challenges and celebrate every success, big or small.
After a busy day of lessons, or at weekends, the girls often gather in our spacious lounge to watch a film, enjoy a board game, or simply relax and chat with friends. Evenings and weekends are filled with a rich programme of activities, and every Saturday offers an exciting trip — sometimes to London, sometimes to explore the local area.
Living on site alongside the girls is our dedicated team of boarding staff. They cultivate a strong sense of community and are available around the clock to offer guidance, reassurance, or simply a friendly listening ear.

Skills Development
During their time with us, the girls develop a whole range of skills that will stand them in good stead for university and beyond. They learn to become capable, independent, flexible and understanding, developing a high level of confidence and a sense of self.
The girls are encouraged to give their opinions and to take an active role in organising activities. They take on different responsibilities as they get older and have more freedom, but there is always someone there to guide them.
Sussex Life
As a boarding school in Sussex there is no shortage of activities we can offer to girls. With the vibrant city of Brighton just a few minutes away and the beautiful South Downs National Park on our doorstep, our boarders have a wealth of stimulating and exciting opportunities to take in over the weekends and in their free time. Activities which the girls have taken part in over the last academic year have included ice-skating, West-End Theatre trips, go-karting, laser tag and paintball, as well as visiting the local bonfire celebrations and village fairs.
A Positive journey
As a Burgess Hill Girls boarder, the girls truly feel cared for, leaving here with fond memories and life-long friends both in their peers and in the staff who have looked after them on this very important part of their journey.
