We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic DT Technician to join our innovative and forward-thinking Design & Technology Department. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role in supporting students as they explore their creativity, develop practical skills, and bring ambitious projects to life.
Working closely with teaching staff, you will help ensure that our workshops are safe, well-resourced, and inspiring spaces where students can thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for lessons
- Maintaining and carrying out safety checks on workshop tools and machinery
- Supporting the smooth running of lessons and encouraging best practice in health and safety
- Ordering supplies and ensuring resources are effectively managed
Working Times:
- Part-time, 2 days per week, term-time only (37 weeks per year)
- Thursdays (8.30am-4.30pm) and Fridays (8.30am–2.30pm), 12.5 hours per week
The successful candidate will have following experience/training or will be willing to complete training in this area:
- Relevant qualifications in Design & Technology (BTEC, A level, strong GCSEs or CREST Gold Award)
- Confidence in using CAD software
- Strong knowledge of workshop tools and machinery
- Excellent organisation skills, flexibility, and a proactive “can do” approach
