Textiles – Subject Lead (full time)

Required from September 2019 

We are looking to appoint an experienced, talented and enthusiastic teacher of Textiles to lead the subject in this high-performing school. This vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of the current post-holder.  We would consider applications from candidates who are able to work on either a full time or part-time basis.

Applications are equally welcome from newly qualified teachers (for whom statutory induction would be provided) or from more experienced applicants.

The successful candidate will teach students through the Senior School from Year 7 to Upper Sixth and must have the capacity or potential to teach Fashion and Textiles to A level. The successful candidate will be able to communicate a clear passion for the subject to pupils throughout the Senior School and be willing to engage students in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities designed to inspire a love of Textiles. The subject has a strong record of success in national competitions such as the annual Festival of Quilts competition and various fashion design competitions including, Wool4school, The Clothes Show and Young Craftsman of the Year. Pupils taking the subject at A level have taken up places on highly competitive university courses.

We currently have an opening for an experienced Secretary/Receptionist to work in our main school office on an all-year around contract to provide an efficient administrative service to our busy senior school team to include covering the main School’s reception and switchboard.   In order to be successful in this role you will be flexible and hardworking with strong IT and administrative capabilities.

CLEANERS

Required ASAP

Variety of shifts available – Saturday mornings and/or 5 morning or evening shifts a week, to work during term time only (35 weeks per academic year).
We are looking for Cleaners to join our Housekeeping team to carry out regular cleaning duties during our School term time. Shifts available are Saturday mornings (7.30am – 12.30pm) and/or working a 3 hour shift Monday to Friday inclusive in either the morning (5am – 8am) or evening (4.30pm – 7.30pm). In total we have 20 cleaning hours a week available which could be filled by one or more candidates.
The role will involve cleaning a designated part of the School site, working as part of a dedicated team.
Previous experience is not essential as we will provide full training, however we are looking for individuals who are good team workers, who are flexible with excellent attention to detail and who can work on their own initiative.

NURSERY ASSISTANTS – BANK STAFF

Required asap

We currently have opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our ‘Outstanding’ School Nursery as Bank Staff.

You will work as part of our excellent Nursery Team and with parents/carers to provide a stimulating, creative and safe environment for the children and promote the learning development of each child.  The nursery is staffed between the hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year and we are looking for suitably qualified individuals who are potentially available to work between the hours stated on a 7 hour day – either an early or late start. Shifts will mainly be required during our School term time but may occasionally also be required during our School holiday periods when the nursery is also open.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have an excellent working knowledge of the EYFS along with at least a Level 2 qualification in childcare.  You will also have previous experience of working with 2½ to 4 year olds, be able to deliver a high standard of care with excellent interpersonal skills.
