Head of House (Avondale)

Applications are invited for the position of Head of House (Avondale), to lead one of our boarding houses. This is an exciting opportunity to join our School boarding community as it embarks on a period of development.
We are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and charismatic individual who has prior experience in a boarding environment with a full understanding of the social and personal needs of today’s teenagers. It is essential that the successful candidate is willing to play a full part in the life of the School including our extensive extra-curricular programme. It would be desirable if the candidate was able to teach English as an Additional Language (EAL).
This role presents an excellent opportunity for someone with boarding experience to lead the day to day running of a boarding house, enabling that individual to thrive in the school community and professionally develop in a supportive, friendly environment with excellent direction from the Senior Leadership Team.
While the role has traditionally been that of “Housemistress”, we are looking for the best candidate, irrespective of gender.

This is a residential role.

The candidate reports to the Assistant Head Pastoral & Boarding and ultimately the Head, and is expected to work closely with the other Head of House, School Pastoral Leaders plus the House team.

Boarding Assistant

Required for January 2019

Applications are invited for the position of Boarding Assistant, to support our two boarding houses. This is an exciting opportunity to join our School boarding community as it embarks on a period of development.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has some experience of working with children and young people with a full understanding of the social and personal needs of today’s teenagers. It is essential that the successful candidate is willing to play a full part in the life of the School, including our extensive extra-curricular programme.
This role presents an excellent opportunity to join a thriving boarding community in a high performing girls school. This role may be suitable for a graduate or for someone looking to develop a career in boarding and assist in the day to day running of a boarding house. Minibus Driver (20-30 hours per week)

Required as soon as possible

We have a vacancy for a Minibus Driver (full clean driving licence to include D1 group entitlement) to join our team during term time – 6.30am-8.30am and from 3.45pm-5.45pm (34 weeks a year) starting as soon as possible. Included in the annual salary of £7,840 is an on-call allowance for being on call for a potential second evening bus run at 6.15pm for which additional hours are paid.
In addition to a full clean driving licence with D1 entitlement, we are looking for an individual who is a good team worker, who is flexible and with the ability to communicate with pupils and parents. Attention to detail is essential to ensure that all passengers travel safely in the vehicle.
You must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 2 years and, for insurance purposes, must be aged 25 or over.

NURSERY ASSISTANT ROLE (Full Time – a 1 year maternity cover contract)

Commencing January 2019

We have an opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our ‘Outstanding’ School Nursery in the Spring Term for a maternity cover contract.
You will work as part of our excellent Nursery Team and with parents/carers to provide a stimulating, creative and safe environment for the children and promote the learning and development of each child. The nursery is staffed between the hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year. Your shifts will be between the hours stated on a 7 hour day – either an early or late start.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have an excellent working knowledge of the EYFS along with at least a Level 2 qualification in childcare. You will also have previous experience of working with 2½ to 4 year olds, be able to deliver a high standard of care with excellent interpersonal skills.

NURSERY ASSISTANTS – BANK STAFF

We currently have opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our ‘Outstanding’ School Nursery as Bank Staff.

You will work as part of our excellent Nursery Team and with parents/carers to provide a stimulating, creative and safe environment for the children and promote the learning development of each child. The nursery is staffed between the hours of 7.30am to 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year and we are looking for suitably qualified individuals who are potentially available to work between the hours stated on a 7 hour day – either an early or late start. Shifts will mainly be required during our School term time but may occasionally also be required during our School holiday periods when the nursery is also open.

BANK housekeeping assistants

We are looking for individuals to join our housekeeping team to carry out cleaning duties on an ad hoc/casual basis as required to cover for staff sickness or additional requirements.
The roles will involve cleaning a designated part of the School site, working as part of a dedicated team.
Previous experience is not essential as we will provide full training, however we are looking for individuals who are good team workers, who are flexible with excellent attention to detail and who can work on their own initiative.
