Burgess hill Girls Nursery - Admissions

Nursery Admissions

Girls & Boys Nursery

We welcome girls and boys over the age of two and a half years. Girls often progress through into our Reception class at Burgess Hill Girls the September after their fourth birthday.

Entry into the Nursery is by parent consultation with our Nursery Manager, Suzanne Roberts. Book a visit here.

Nursery Registration

After your consultation with the Nursery Manager, in order to have your child’s name added to the provisional admissions list, you will be asked to complete and return a Nursery Registration Form together with a non-refundable registration fee of £75*. If you would like your daughter to join the Pre-Prep & Prep School after Nursery we also ask for a commitment fee of £1,000 (£500 payable upon acceptance of your Nursery place, and then £500 on first day starting at Nursery). Those continuing into the the Reception year will be credited with £500 against Spring term fees and the remaining £500 will be used as your main school deposit.

An offer of a place may be made after registration, but it is usual for us to delay making any offer until nearer the request entry date.

Acceptance of Place

Once an offer of a place has been made, we ask you to complete an acceptance form and return it to us via post or email – together with a deposit of £200, refundable against your final Nursery invoice. If your daughter will be moving on to the Pre-Prep and Prep School we ask you to pay £500 of your commitment fee instead of the £200 deposit.

Nursery at Burgess Hill Girls

Place allocation

Burgess Hill Nursery is part of Burgess Hill Girls and shares the school’s commitment to providing girls with the best start in life via an outstanding all-round education.

Places are offered as follows and in priority order:

Priority for Nursery places is given to any girls who have also committed to join the Pre-Prep and Prep School. Girls who have committed to join the Pre-Prep & Prep are able to attend Nursery for up to five ‘school days’ or ‘long days’, during school term dates or 51 weeks a year. In the Hedgehog’s class (for children aged two and a half to three) girls are also able to do two or more morning or afternoon sessions.

If you want to register your daughter for the Nursery only, girls are able to attend Nursery for between two and four ‘school days’ or ‘long days’, during school term dates or 51 weeks a year. They are also able to do two or more morning or afternoon sessions in the Hedgehog’s class (for children aged two and a half to three).

If you want to register your son for the Nursery, we can offer two or three ‘school days’, during school term dates only.

The higher priority up this list your child is, the more likely it will be that we can meet your requests for sessions. Conversely those with lower priority may be less likely to have their exact requests accommodated when there is a high demand for places.
