Sixth Form Reading Group

Posted: 15th December 2020

Bold Girl Lottie Hinton together with avid readers in the Sixth Form are enjoying sharing their experience of literature in a newly formed reading group. The group all read the same novel and once a month meet to discuss their thoughts on the text. As well as establishing healthy habits and enriching cultural capital, this group ensures pupils are ready to discuss their wider reading in personal statements and university interviews.

Lottie Hinton, Bold Girl says:

“I’m beyond excited to have started this Sixth Form reading group. It will be a monthly meet-up where we can all come together (virtually, of course!) to discover and discuss new books. Being on a gap year, I am missing all things literature so it will be lovely to chat with the current Sixth Form pupils. I hope that this will be a stress-relieving time for all of us where we can immerse ourselves in the world of fiction! In November we discussed Hardy’s Tess of the D’Urbervilles, but perhaps this month will have a more contemporary novel in store. That’s the exciting thing about a reading group; we’ll have the opportunity to explore literature of all genres and from across the ages.”

Esme, Sixth Former, has put together this video of their opinions of November’s book choice.
